Gyula Boros

Gyula Boros paints in the traditional Baroque style with it's depth of colour and detail. His profound ability to capture and combine the elements of texture in his subjects is indeed a rare talent.

Gyula Boros was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1950. His talent for drawing and his love of art were revealed in his early youth.

Gyula Boros graduated from the Budapest Art School and worked as a graphic designer for several years, before beginning his painting career in 1977.

His early paintings focused primarily on landscapes, later turning to still life subjects in the style and techniques of the classic masters.

Elegance, romance and drama hallmark his deep sense of passion for the painters of the Netherlands. He prefers the traditional Baroque style with it’s depth of colour and detail.

Gyula Boros’ profound ability to capture and combine the elements of texture in his subjects is indeed a rare talent, fragile crystal, soft draperies, cool granite and marble, and the high polish of silver bring realism and comfort to the viewer, bringing one “into” the scene. Glowing candlelight or the warmth of a setting sun enhanced the experience.

Exhibitions in his homeland Hungary, Amsterdam and London have brought Gyula Boros international regard.

His paintings are the product of a dedicated and diligent labour, and are highly esteemed by collectors all over the world.
