Simon Wright

Simon Wright was born in West Yorkshire in 1974. From as early as he can remember, Simon has always been drawing and painting and it’s been his sole passion all of his life.

After gaining a degree as an illustrator Simon began to realise that he enjoyed fine art painting most of all as it didn’t have the restraints of illustrative work. Through this he gained success painting animals, particularly dogs.

Simon brings the elements of both illustration and fine art together in his work and enjoys working with both realistic and abstracted compositions depending on the subject matter.

His paintings are reminiscent of the textures and colours applied by the impressionist painters; he certainly captures the movement and fluidity of his subjects.
