R Berger

R Berger was born in Hódmezövasarhely, Hungary in 1947.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest under professor Barcsay (1960 – 1965), who discovered and furthered the young artist’s interest in baroque painting.

Berger soon began participating in exhibitions and the most important were those at the studio “Young Artists in Budapest” in 1968 and at the “Eötvös Club”, also in Budapest, in 1970.

Berger’s panels through his flawless technique and his compositions were often considered as works of older artists with greater experience because of the maturity of the expression.

As time has gone on, Berger from student, has now become the master, and his stunning still life panels have captured the attention of collectors worldwide.

R Berger moved from his native Hungary to Austria, but has since moved back with his family to his homeland.

Berger’s miniature still life panels are done in the tradition Dutch style and feature realistic depictions of fruit, fine china and glassware. He uses a dark backdrop which showcases his exquisite details. The grapes glow and the glass appears so realistic you could pick it up. But perhaps he is most well-known for his water droplets, that shimmer and shine and finish each panel with his signature attribute.

Berger’s attention to detail, his mastery of light and shadow, and his refined brushwork make his original oil panels timeless in their appeal.
