Paul Marshall Johnson
Paul Marhsall Johnson has combined his knowledge of stained glass and his love of art to create unique pieces of wallart.
Choosing iconic figures such as John Lennon & Jurgen Klopp, Paul decided to lead their glasses and encapsulate their story within, usually a memory, a dream, or reflection.
Originally from Liverpool, Paul Marshall Johnson moved to Los Angeles with his family as a young man, where he then lived for 18 years, “I always liked drawing. I did all my schooling in LA, and got a job with a stained glass company working on homes in Beverly Hills – but I always wanted to come back and work in the UK.”
He eventually moved back to the UK in 1990, opening a stained glass business with his brother, called Lead Charm, which saw some success, but was badly hit by the financial crash in 2008.
Having always been interested in art and having worked in stained glass Paul decided it was time to combine his two passions and start creating glass wall art.
He knew he wanted to design a piece of art with John Lennon in, but felt there are so many iconic images that he needed to create something unique,
“He’s looking back at two cities that meant the most to him – Liverpool and New York. I wanted to make it look like two cities under the same sky…As far as I know, there’s no one in the world who does what I’m doing at the moment – I can’t keep up with demand.”
Paul doesn’t like to say exactly how he makes the prints, but said: “I absolutely love doing it.”
