Lucia Sarto was born in Udine, in the North East of Italy. At the age of only 11, she won her first prize for painting in a regional school competition.
Lucia studied painting in Venice with the well-known Artist and Tutor V.Guidi. He was a great influence on her portrait work. Lucia moved to Turin, a centre of Culture and Italian art, and soon established herself as an Artist in her own right, finding a ready market for her works. She was nominated as “Painter of the Year” in a solo exhibition in the Pallazo della Regione. She has subsequently participated in over a hundred exhibitions, about 50 of them being One Woman Exhibitions.
Lucia Sarto is one of the great talents of the contemporary Italian school of painters. She devotes herself to all the beauty and joy of art. Her paintings radiate charm and poetry – the harmony of colours join with the beauty of the depicted subject to create a great work of art.
Lucia Sarto’s reputation continues to grow, not just in Europe but also throughout the world, particularly in America and Japan. She does not confine herself to portraiture and her subjects are many and varied. Most notable are her floral works and her Italian summer landscapes in which she captures the warmth and brightness, yet in almost pastel shades.
