Ladislaus Rath Berger

Ladislaus Rath Berger’s tradition still life panels feature realistic depictions of fruit, fine china and glassware. His mastery of light & shadow and exquisite detail make them timeless in their appeal.

Ladislaus Rath Berger was born in Hódmezövasarhely, Hungary in 1947.

Berger studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest under professor Barcsay (1960 – 1965), who discovered and furthered the young artist’s interest in baroque painting.

Berger soon began participating in exhibitions and the most important were those at the studio “Young Artists in Budapest” in 1968 and at the “Eötvös Club”, also in Budapest, in 1970.

Berger’s panels through his flawless technique and his compositions were often considered as works of older artist with greater experience because of the maturity of the expression.

His miniature still life panels are done in the tradition style and feature realistic depictions of fruit, fine china and glassware. His attention to detail, mastery of light & shadow and exquisite detail make them timeless in their appeal.
