Gill Hart was born in 1955. She is married with three grown up children and lives in Cheshire with husband Peter.
Gill always wanted to follow her first love and become a full-time artist, instead she chose her second passion to teach young children. She attended the Liverpool College of Higher Education from 1973-76. At college Gill obtained a distinction in Art and her work was highlighted in the final exhibition being displayed in the most prominent position.
She has painted commissions taken through her husband’s fine art gallery Unicorn Gallery for many years, before finally taking the step to give up teaching and concentrate on her dream to paint professionally. Gill loves to paint both figurative and landscape paintings.
In 2022 she started to include a small heart hidden within each painting, take a closer look to see if you can find one! Contrast and texture are both important components of her work which she executes in oil paints using both palette knife and brushes.
She is influenced by the figurative work of the Spanish artist Royo, whose rich textures and energetic style excite her. She studied Leonardo de Vinci and loves the work of the pre Raphaelites.
Gill Hart is an expert at showing the play of light and has great contrast in her beautiful paintings.
