Frank Getty was born in 1967 in Northern Germany. He showed a prodigious talent for painting as he was growing up, but his father urged him to follow a ‘normal’ profession and so he became a painter and decorator.
He earned a high reputation doing large-scale murals and commissioned paintings, but it wasn’t until he spent time in New York and London that he chose to become a professional full-time artist.
Frank Getty both continues the legacy of impressionist painting whilst also giving his work a highly contemporary feel.
Critically, Getty has attracted high acclaim throughout the world. His work has been recognised in a number of exhibitions from New York to Sydney and he enjoys a growing reputation amongst serious collectors. His grand, dynamic, architectural cityscapes and seascapes are sold throughout the world.
